Reciprocating Engine Analysis
Engine Analysis Services are provided for the purpose of evaluating both the performance and mechanical condition of a machine.
Performance is evaluated based on analyzing the horsepower as well as the engine’s efficiency and economic operating conditions.
The mechanical condition of the machine is also analyzed for the purpose of identifying issues, or trending to find potential failures such as:
- Intake and exhaust component problems
- Piston, ring or cylinder leaks
- External leakage
- Problems relating to peak firing pressures or temperature elevation
- Impacting of reciprocating components
Our analysts have more than 350 years combined experience analyzing a wide variety of diesel, high speed, and slow speed engines.
Engine diagnostics are also provided to identify issues that could affect exhaust emissions including:
- Improper Air-Fuel Ratios
- Bad Ignition Timing
- Power cylinder performance balance
- Mismatched components
- Overall Mechanical Condition of the Engine
