The On-Guard™ family of reciprocating engine and compressor online monitoring systems are an essential tool for measuring mechanical condition and unit performance. On-Guard™ engine monitoring system continuously measures engine balance and quality of combustion, including pinpointing power cylinder detonation and misfires. On the compressor, On-Guard™ systems calculate important performance and machinery health parameters, such as horsepower, efficiency, gas throughput, cylinder flow balance and rod drop. In order to protect compressor assets, On-Guard™ systems measure and report crosshead impacts, frame vibration, rod load, rod reversal and rod runout.

The On-Guard™ family offers the end user, OEM, or packager, the flexibility to design a monitoring system tailored specifically to each application, ranging from single parameter monitoring, such as rod drop or frame vibration to advanced machinery shutdown protection systems. The On-Guard™ architecture is modular, consisting of six unique data-acquisition modules, referred to as "smart" modules because each module is multi-channeled with its own processor, memory, and multi-drop address. The user can select the appropriate number and type of "smart" modules to meet the level of monitoring each application requires.  The unique design, based on Windrock's patented C-Guard module, makes installation simple, fast and inexpensive, as all sensors and smart modules are designed to be mounted on the machine deck.  All modules can be connected via RS-485 serial or Ethernet to the user's PLC or DCS system.  Data is also sent to the On-Guard™ system controller via Ethernet where is can be accessed via Windrock's WebView browser application and/or using Windrock MD diagnostic software.  Your local Representative will be pleased to assist in specifying which On-Guard™ modules best meets your application needs.
